The article that I chose to discuss entitled "Trump v. California" offers a look at the many legal battles fought against the federal government by the state of California. Several of the hot button issues the state of California fought in court for included the protection of unathourized immigrants as well as the environment. I feel that this article is very important because it demonstrates that state government has the power to resist federal government to fit the needs of its people. Though many in California may have felt particularly disapointed in the election of Donald Trump, there is still room for these citizens to voice their opinions through state law. It gives a sense of hope that people can still become involved and fight against laws and administration they find immoral.
